On the occasion of the second edition of ArtDays - Napoli Campania, which took place from 24 to 27 November, the cultural association riTROVO was responsible for managing the educational part of the event.
The planning process, which began in September 2022, saw an initial training phase for 14 students and former students of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples. During this period we focused on building the methodology for creating a project, from researching the idea to writing it down, from rehearsals at the Academy to simulations in the spaces indicated by the planned activities.
This path has thus enabled the people involved to go through a complete training process, accompanied through to the realisation of their ideas and their implementation in total autonomy. The result is 11 activities carried out in the cities of Naples, Salerno and Sorrento, which we present below in order of their performance during the ArtDays - Napoli Campania.

The activity, already part of the educational offer of the riTROVO cultural association, focuses on the ability to reinterpret the way we relate to the label of a work in museums, rewriting them from random words, weaving them together until we arrive at a new caption that is interpretive.

The activity takes the form of a walking tour that aims to invite people to reflect and question what they observe, taking note of everything that emerges, thoughts, answers, details, using a notebook.
The peculiarity of the notebook, which can be disassembled, allows its parts to be exchanged at the end, just as participants will be invited to exchange their thoughts for a final return in the form of a dialogue.

The activity, a walk tour, is based on a narrative that intends to build totally personal perceptions of the places visited, in order to achieve a more direct and profound involvement with the participants, leaving them the possibility of keeping track of the route in a notebook.

Starting from observation and storytelling applied to the context, the activity seeks to focus on the accents that allow people to express their emotions, through a sign, a trace, a drawing, which become means of relating works and participants.

Title: COORDINATE COONTEMPORANEE

The workshop activity aims to deconstruct the concept of art and the relationships between art and people, using a methodology that relates spaces, works and people. Through the exploration of the inside and the outside, participants are invited to search for their own personal coordinates to read art, the museum and everyday life.

The workshop revolves around the theme of living, as a broad form of interweaving, of collective dialogue from which a network of interactions and links is created.
The participants' actions are marked by the passage of a ball of red wool, which weaves a real web, which then becomes the basis on which to inhabit spaces.

The activity is outlined as a workshop of artistic expression that seeks to relate the viewer to the work, manifesting the experience of the visit through the construction of an artefact, i.e. a small tree with an empty bottle as its trunk and whose branches, starting with iron wire, take shape with discarded materials.

The activity seeks to highlight the contradictions in contemporary art between the sentimental and legal ties of a work, in order to become aware of how it is created and conveyed.
The intention is to create a work starting from a common point, the page of a book, which by circling key words and binding them together will create a visual poem, on the back of this page a letter of intent to 'sell' one's work.

The activity is halfway between a walk tour and a workshop activity and reflects on the role of the image in the contemporary world. Starting from an archive photo, one will let oneself be influenced by everything that encounters along the way, leaving a trace on the photo, deconstructing the initial image by reconstructing a new one, in order to reappropriate it.

W.I.P. is a game that allows us to interact in a different way with our surroundings. The activity aims at deconstructing a space, an existing object in order to try to re-imagine it. By using coloured acetate sheets, it is possible to draw new perspectives of the view.
Exchanging the sheets among the participants generates what is a physical and verbal exchange on what was the shared experience.

Inspired by the Situationist International Movement of the 1960s and the artistic practice of Situationist Drift, the activity asks the question: what does it mean to get lost?
Searching for the answer by changing point of view, participants are invited to draw a psychogeorgaic map, i.e. constructed not with the gaze but with the senses, from which a dialogue on how it is possible to lose oneself in order to find oneself will then be opened.

The activity, in the first part walk tour then real shared workshop, aims to deconstruct the perceptions and impressions one has of the artworks and the spaces.
Metaphorically collecting a small piece of works and spaces, cutting out prints, we will deconstruct what meets the eye and then reconstruct it in the final phase into a shared work.
